The RFI Foundation, C.I.C. (“we”, “us”, “our”, “RFI” or “RFI Foundation”) are the data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 (“DPA”) and the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) (in force as of 25 May 2018) in respect of any data (“personal information”) which we hold about you.

This policy outlines the RFI Foundation’s information gathering and dissemination practices for this website (rfi-foundation.org), others linked herein that we manage including our RFI Summit website (www.rfisummit.org), RFI Insights (www.rfi-insights.org) and our communications generally.

This privacy notice sets out how we will use the information you give us. This notice applies to anyone providing us with personal information in order to sign up to email updates, including our newsletter. We will update this notice from time to time and we will post updates (with immediate effect) to our website or in our newsletter, as applicable.

Personal information

RFI does not collect personal information, except where it is volunteered. If you provide unique identifying information, such as your name, email address and other information on forms stored on this site, and by those who manage our data, The personal information we hold will be used only for the following purposes:

  • internal record keeping;

  • transmission by email of material that may be of interest to you;

  • to provide information you have requested;

  • improving our services and operations;

  • market research.

This information will be kept secure within RFI and will not be shared with third parties, except with your explicit permission. RFI will maintain the information we collect in relation to our newsletter in Google Drive and Moosend. Cookies that are used to help the website run effectively are placed on our behalf by Squarespace and by Google Analytics.

Electronic communications

All of those who have opted-in to receive information from us, including our email newsletter, will receive communications from us in electronic format. Every communication we send will include a link to revoke consent. You can also send us an email info [at] rfi-foundation [dot] org if you would like to receive a copy of the personal information we have collected, or to add, correct or request that we delete your personal information.

Log files

Like most standard web servers, this website uses log files. These files contain information such as internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information, and is used for aggregated statistical analysis of web site traffic only. We will share this non-personally identifiable information with Google Analytics to create the aggregated statistical analysis of web site traffic only.
