RFI Summit to host Partnership Discussions on Sustainable & Inclusive Finance

The Responsible Finance & Investment Summit organizers are excited to announce that RFI Summit 2018 will host with Thomson Reuters a closed-door pre-Summit roundtable for Partnership Discussions on Sustainable & Inclusive Finance.  The partnership discussions, initiated by European Partners for the Environment (EPE), are designed to build a framework for partnerships supporting the adoption of commitments and actions panel to fulfill the SDGs and the Action Agenda of the Paris Climate Agreement.

The roundtable discussions will center on how the responsible finance industry participants can adopt blockchain to strengthen accountability, follow up on commitments, enable solutions to scale up and strengthen virtuous circle for achieving a just transition to sustainability. The roundtable is organized jointly between RFI Foundation, Swiss Arab Network, the Bank of the Argentine Nation, UN Environment and EPE.

Cardinal Peter Turkson, who His Holiness Pope Francis appointed as the first prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development, will be one of the dignitaries addressing the Buenos Aires conference.

Tom Vereijken, Executive Director of European Partners for the Environment said: “The RFI Summit will be an ideal location to hold our first roundtable of 2018 for negotiation of the Partnership Agreement for Sustainable and Inclusive Finance. We appreciate the kind invitation from the organizers, the RFI Foundation and Swiss Arab Network”

Blake Goud, CEO of the Responsble Finance & Investment (RFI) Foundation added: “ The Summit theme of ‘Impact Finance & Technology’ aligns perfectly with the discussions to be held around the use of blockchain for sustainable and inclusive finance and we look forwards to continuing our collaboration with EPE after the RFI Summit concludes.”

Mounir Khouzami, Co-Founder & President of Swiss Arab Network said: “We are excited to add actionable discussions alongside the RFI Summit 2018.  We are happy host EPE which we believe can further enhance the productive output from the Summit, and increase the diversity of voices who can contribute to the discussions in the Summit itself.”
