Stuart Hutton

Stuart established his own international wealth management business over 15 years ago to provide advice and support to high-net worth individuals, families, and businesses. In 2015, Stuart joined Simply Ethical as their Chief Investment Officer, where alongside his fellow Directors, he is driving an innovative and fresh approach to managing Sharia-observant ethical investments for their clients.

Stuart is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) and is an External Specialist Advisor to them on Islamic Finance. At the end of 2017, he was appointed as one of the first Emissary’s of the RFI and this year has worked with others to form the Emissary Leadership Group, to develop further the role of the emissaries and increase their network globally.

Stuart has a keen interest in new technology including FinTech and Blockchain, and has continued to work with organisations in this exciting area to find new ways of developing the financial and banking sectors, especially around sustainability, green finance and financial inclusion, and their role in meeting the social and environmental impacts of the United Nations 2030 agenda. He is a Board Member for the European Partners for the Environment (EPE), a multi-stakeholder think tank based in Brussels, supporting transformational collaboration to encourage implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and Green Finance both in the EU and around the globe.

In 2019 he became a founding member of Otherdots, a future-driven Foundation, with a global initiative of Survival of Life on the Planet, and the objective of re-imaging the future by building a triple bottom line between people, planet and profit. Otherdots purpose is to bring together a global community and knowledge network to help reboot the global economy to solve and advance human potential regardless of race, culture, gender, socioeconomic background, or other human difference.

Outside of financial services, Stuart holds several Trustee and Non-Executive positions on Boards for a variety of private and public sector organisations in housing, education, and health & social welfare.
